This Sunday I was taking pictures at the Maidstone Cup competition organised by Margaret Preedy. The morning was formation teams, with couples ballroom and latin in the afternoon. I thought the standard of the winning dancers was very high indeed, and the Parents and Children's Cha Cha round was about the most fun I've ever seen in a dance competition. Everyone seemed to be laughing so much, it was great to see.
I also met some parents from other events - it's always nice to chat to people and get comments about the pictures, it can be a bit lonely taking photos in a room full of families all day with no one to talk to!
So, anyway, back to the pictures: I shot about three thousand frames, of which the best are now in the Gallery. I must say - the lighting in the hall was very challenging (to be polite) since it was a mixture of daylight and high-pressure sodium (think car park). I've done my best to correct for it and I think it's worked out ok.
I hope you enjoy the pictures - you'll find them all
here.
